We first had this on our mythical trip back to the USA after living in London for 3 years. We were at a crowded, smoky outdoor restaurant in Athens, in the shadow of the Parthenon. Whilst the rest of the meal (especially the Retsina we had to send back) was fairly forgettable, the grill feta was a revelation. We'd eaten a lot of cooked cheese in our time travelling (including the wonderful Saganaki on the Greek island of Rhodes), and thought we'd hit all the highlights, but evidently we'd missed this one.
Slab of feta cheese, if a thick one, carefully sliced in half to about 2cm, 3.4 inch
Tomatoes, can be canned
Red or Green Bell Peppers (Capsicum)
